A SUMMER panto performance of Robinson Crusoe was a welcome distraction for children being treated at Wakefield’s Pinderfields Hospital.

The Starlight Children’s Foundation staged an interactive performance of a new adaptation of the classic story on the hospital’s children’s ward yesterday afternoon. (Monday September 1)

Gillian Squires, play specialist at Pinderfields Hospital, said: “Every year we look forward to Starlight’s summer panto.

“We know that play can significantly help to improve a child’s hospital experience.

“Starlight’s Summer Panto gives our young patients a chance to forget their illness for a short while.”
