Otley school honours potential Paralympian Danielle

POTENTIAL paralympian Danielle Bailey was among present and former students honoured at Otley Prince Henry’s Grammar School’s annual celebration evening.

Olympic gymnast Craig Heap presented teenage swimmer Danielle (pictured) with the Margaret Crossfield Trophy for Perseverance in Sport at the event held at the Leeds City Museum Central Arena.

Danielle, whose hands and legs below the knee had to be removed in 2002 after she contracted meningitis, is a talented young swimmer who dreams of going to Rio in 2016 to represent her country.

The prestigious Kerr Scholarship, awarded for outstanding performance at A Level, went to Samuel Bradford. He achieved four A* grades at A Level as well as an AS in further additional maths.

The former Otley Prince Henry Grammar School studentis currently studying mathematics at Cambridge University.
