A Leeds market town went quackers to raise hundreds of pounds for local good causes.

Otley’s first ever grand charity duck race saw 1,000 brightly coloured rubber ducks sail down the River Wharfe from Otley Bridge.

More than £860 has been raised for local charities including Bramhope Scouts, Otley Action for Older People, Otley Carnival and Behind Closed Doors.

Birthday girl Izzie Lunn-Varley, seven, was crowned the duck race champion at the weekend.

Marketing Manager at Adlington, Claire Reede said: “We want to thank everyone who came and supported the race and helped make the day a success.”
