YOUNGSTERS stepped back in time when a school at Ossett near Wakefield celebrated its 60th anniversary yesterday.

Pupils dressed up to celebrate Dimplewell Infants and Nursery School’s diamond anniversary with some youngsters choosing to wear styles from 60 years ago,

They wrote a song to celebrate their school’s milestone event and performed it during the birthday party celebrations.

And students created a time capsule to mark the occasion.

School head Helen Williams said: “It was a fantastic day. The children had a great time.”
