Talented young musicians from across Leeds are set to entertain shoppers in a pop-up performance at the Trinity Leeds shopping centre.

The City of Leeds Youth Orchestra (CYLO), comprising of over 90 musicians aged 13 to 18, will play music from Pirates of the Caribbean tomorrow from 1pm.

It is hoped that the striking musical display will raise awareness of their upcoming concert as part of the Leeds International Concert Season at Leeds Town Hall on March 15.

Julie McLeish, chair of CYLO, said: “We get a fantastic reaction whenever and wherever we perform.”

Founded over 40 years ago, the orchestra is led by principal conductor Dougie Scarfe, who spent several years with Opera North. Visit www.clyo.org.uk for details.
