Opera North’s Youth Chorus will join forces with Scottish Opera’s Connect Company for the double bill, which will see musicians aged 14-21 spend a week rehearsing before staging two short Kurt Weill operas. Costumes have been designed by University of Huddersfield fashion students.

“We aim to give the young people as many different opportunities as possible. Practising alongside, and appearing with, other young musicians is a fantastic way for our singers to forge friendships in different parts of the country,” said Opera North education director Jacqui Cameron.
