An online gift emporium is offering its first customers free sweets when it opens in Leeds this weekend.

The Albion Street store will be Liberty Trading’s first high street shop in the UK, specialising in quirky gifts, homeware and lifestyle accessories.

The brand, which launched as a website 12 months ago, will occupy the former Carphone Warehouse store.

Staff will be handing out candyfloss and popcorn to shoppers at the launch event tomorrow (Saturday October 22).

Among the 2,000 products stocked by Liberty Trading are the Upside Down Wine Glass, which has been featured by the Daily Mail and Huffington Post, a chocolate teapot and a retro gumball machine.

Managing director Patrick Bywater said:

“We are so excited about expanding from the online world and opening our first shop presence on Albion Street. It is something that we have being planning for a while and with Christmas approaching we are looking forward to some of our favourite and trusted products featuring in stockings around the UK.”

PRODUCTION: Gangsta Granny, based on the book by comedian and Britains Got Talent judge David Walliams, is coming to Leeds Grand Theatre next week.
