WE all like to think we can cook, right?
I bet you reckon you could rustle up something half-decent for your mates (as long as you had plenty of prep time and a few days to prepare a suitable menu).
Well now’s the time to put that theory to the test – on national television.
Cult TV show Come Dine With Me is looking for people from Leeds to take part in a new series of the surprisingly popular programme.
Filming will be taking place in the city from March 23 to March 27 and the winner will obviously get the coveted £1,000 prize.
It’s the kind of easily-watchable telly show that everyone has seen.
And no doubt we’ve all sat at home at some point and thought, ‘I could do better than that!’
So, now here’s your chance to prove it.
The offer to take part really is tempting, even for someone as useless as me who has been known to almost make the kitchen go up in flames after setting fire to spaghetti in the past.
But, let’s face it – the worse the contestants are at cooking, the better the episode will be in the end.
No-one wants to see a show-off putting together a faultless filet mignon or a perfect parmigiana.
For some reason we seem to take pleasure in watching other people’s culinary disasters, and personally I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.
But I think I’d rather laugh at other people’s efforts from the privacy of my own home, so I’ll pass on it this time.
