One of Leeds’ largest employers has pledged to give a sizzling boost to the YEP’s Hospice Half Hour campaign in aid of the Half and Half Appeal.
The LNT Group will hold a half-hour bacon butty breakfast sale for staff at its Garforth HQ during National Hospice Care Week in October to raise cash for the cause.
Our Hospice Half Hour campaign is asking people to spare just 30 minutes any time during that week - October 6-12 - to fundraise the YEP’s long-running Half and Half Appeal, which raises money for St Gemma’s and Sue Ryder-Wheatfields hospices.
The LNT Group was founded by philanthropic entrepreneur Lawrence Tomlinson and employs more than 2,000 people across its businesses, which range from building and running care homes to industrial de-icers and racing cars.
Mr Tomlinson said: “We at the LNT Group are keen to support a range of local charities as part of our philanthropic approach.
“The hospice movement has a huge impact on the lives of the patients and loved ones of those who use their services and we are delighted to help out in some small way to support their fantastic work.
“Having already raised £2.8m, we hope our bacon butty sale during the Hospice Half Hour will help the Half and Half appeal meet its £3m target.
“It’s near impossible to resist the smell of sizzling bacon and we can never sell our butties fast enough - with just half an hour to raise money, we know we’ll be ‘taking home the bacon’ for our contribution.”
National Hospice Care Week begins on October 6, so get planning your 30-minute fundraiser and help make a difference to Leeds’ two hospices.
