Winners of the second Child Friendly Leeds Awards were announced at a glittering ceremony

The awards, led by Leeds City Council in partnership with the Yorkshire Evening Post and Leeds City Varieties, celebrated some of the people, places and organisations helping to make Leeds a child friendly city.

Around 550 nominations came in for champion children, child friendly places and people who go the extra mile to support young people.

Among the winners was nine-year-old Evie Addleman, who was named the under 11’s children’s champion, and inspirational Aimee Grayston, who was also named the children’s champion in the 11 to 18’s category.

Herd Farm residential and activity centre, in Eccup, was named the best place for children and young people at the awards which was sponsored by British Gas.
