For the first time, we are recognising wonderful mental health workers. We want to hear about the heroes of this important field.
One in three of us will suffer from mental health problems at some point in their lives.
That’s why we’ve introduced this new category to the YEP Best of Health Awards 2014.
We’re looking for an incredible person working in the field of mental health.
They can do any job at all, as long as they make extra efforts to help people who may be going through the most difficult times of their lives.
Mental ill-health can take all kinds of forms, from depression and anxiety to issues like bipolar disorder or eating disorders.
This category will recognise anyone who helps people affected by any sort of mental health problem, whether they work in the community or an in-patient unit.
They may be nurses, doctors or support workers – but they must be absolutely fantastic at their jobs.
We want to hear about how they have assisted their individual clients, how they’ve gone above and beyond the call of duty and how they’ve improved people’s lives. We also want to know if they’ve helped combat the stigma which still surrounds mental health problems.
If that sounds like a mental health worker you know, nominate them for this award and make sure you tell us why they are so fantastic.
