It might look like it’s taken part in a demolition derby.

But this less-than-pristine Nissan Micra was being driven around Pudsey – before it was seized by police this week.

The rather sorry-looking vehicle was missing a rear light cluster, bumper and licence plate as well as displaying numerous dents and scratches when it was found on Peckover Drive.

The Leeds outer west neighbourhood policing team posted the picture on their Facebook page.

They wrote: “The car had not been involved in a collision and, apart from it being in a dangerous, unroadworthy condition, the driver did not have a full driving licence and had no insurance.

“The area was busy at the time due to nearby schools finishing.”

Police said the driver was reported for numerous offences and would be attending court.

Unsurprisingly, the car itself is now destined for the scrap heap.

A number of Facebook users said they had seen the car driving around the area and praised police for taking action.

But Michael Cunningham joked: “A bit of T-cut and a new air freshener, be good as new.”
