The Yorkshire Post Literary luncheons always attracted a host of well known celebrities.

TV host Robin Ray joined Bill Beaumont, Ashley Jackson and writer Hammond Innes in 1982 and Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl signed copies of his latest book in 1973.

That same year saw Lord Halifax deep in discussion with broadcaster Peter Snow.

In Leeds in 1987 the guests of honour were the very unlikely pairing of politician Michael Heseltine and actor Terence Stamp and those of us who remember TV in the 70s will immediately recognise Frank Muir when he signed his book at the event in 1972.
