A family from Leeds have named a Dreamliner jet after their young daughter who tragically died last year at just two years old.

Cheryl and Tom Murphy lost their daughter Edie after she suffered a fatal seizure.

The couple, from Pudsey, won a competition to name the new Thomson plane and it now flies with Edie’s name displayed next to the cockpit.

The family, along with youngest daughter Annie who is about to turn one, have now flown away to Ibiza as a Thomson holiday was also part of the prize.

“It’s incredible and overwhelming to have a plane named after her,” they said. “We know that there will always be a little bit of Edie in the world.”
