A new art installation has motored into the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP) in Wakefield.

Darktown Turbo Taxi, a colourful car by artist Jonny Hannah, can be seen at the park in West Bretton until March 24.

The second-hand Saab 9-3, customised by Hannah in his studio, acts as a mobile advert for the emporiums and establishments that can be found in ‘Darktown’.

The location was created by the artist as a response to what he saw as the lack of individuality on the modern UK high street.

In 2015, Hannah invited visitors to take a stroll down Darktown’s Main Street, his largest exhibition to date which was also presented at YSP. Themes which interest the Scottish illustrator, who now lives in Southampton, include jazz and folk music, the sea, space and shops.
