OPENING hours have been extended at a north Leeds playschool after a change of venue.

Wigton Moor Playschool was based at Wigton United Reform Church in Alwoodley for more than 20 years and was unable to open five-days-a-week due to clashes with the church timetable.

After a year of planning, the playgroup has moved to Wigton Moor Junior Football Club on Harrogate Road.

Now the not-for-profit playgroup, which is run by a committee of volunteers, can open every day of the working week.

Parents and some of 70 children the playgroup caters for were at an official opening ceremony today (Tues Sept 19).

Playschool vice chair Linda West, said: “It is a really good because now we have more access to outside play.”
