Memberships start from £11.99 per month, giving customers access to over 20,000 sq.ft of work-out space. There will be 14 staff employed at the site, including 10 personal trainers, by the official opening date of December 12.

The no-frills chain offers affordable fitness without extras such as towels, cafes and carpet areas, and there is no commitment to a contract. There is also an inclusive class programme.

The Meanwood site will be managed by experienced industry professional Paul Dunn.

“It’s exciting to bring the company’s low-cost, no-contract 24-hour gym offering to Meanwood and support local regeneration plans.

“With the help of Lee Onion, assistant general manager, we’re offering a range of fantastic classes designed to suit all abilities – and it’s all included in the low monthly price. We want to attract a whole new group of local people to The Gym. For example, those on low incomes, students, retired people and shift workers, as well as those who simply value the 24-hour opening and flexible membership terms.”

Free parking will also be available at the The Gym Meanwood.
