Motorists across Yorkshire face delays on the M1 motorway following accidents near Leeds and Rotherham

An overturned vehicle on the M1 near Leeds has led to huge traffic delays for motorists this afternoon.

The motorway is currently closed southbound between junctions 45 and 45 near Leeds following the incident today at around 3.35pm.

Motorists are also sat in traffic on the M1 at junction 35 near Rotherham following an accident.

Diversions are in place as lanes are closed southbound following an earlier incident, which saw the Yorkshire Air Ambulance dispatched.

Delays are expected for drivers well into this evening.
