Milk float collison girl named LATEST

A 22-month-old girl who died after she was involved in a collision with a milk float has been named by police.

West Yorkshire Police said Zoya Hussain was taken to Leeds General Infirmary after the collision on Hopwood Lane, in Halifax, at 5.30pm on Thursday but later died.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police can now confirm the ID of the 22-month-old girl who died following a road traffic collision in Halifax on Thursday 25 August as that of Zoya Hussain.”

The spokeswoman said Zoya’s family had expressed their wish to grieve in peace.

Inquiries are continuing.
