Man stabbed and car rammed in targeted Leeds night-time attack

A man was stabbed and his car was rammed in what police say was a targeted attack in Leeds.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital with wounds to his arms after being set upon by a number of men in Shadwell Lane, Alwoodley, in the vicinity of Elmhurst Close at around 11.43pm on Monday.

The scene is still cordoned off while police carry out investigations into what they say was a “serious assault”.

It is believed the victim’s car had been rammed by the suspects’ vehicle in the area of Darkwood Way before he was attacked. Det Insp Charlotte Hails, of Leeds District CID, said: “We are treating the incident as a targeted attack and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding it. 

“We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation. 

“This has been a very violent attack on the victim and people living near to where it occurred will be understandably concerned. Our colleagues from the local neighbourhood policing team are increasing their patrols of the area to reassure the community as our enquiries into the incident continue.”
