Man rescued at Victoria Bridge after falling into River Aire in Leeds city centre

A man has been rescued from Victoria Bridge in Leeds city centre after falling into the River Aire.

West Yorkshire Police were called to reports of a man in the river at about 6.55pm today.

Fire crews were called to rescue the man and thankfully they pulled him out unharmed.

He has been taken to hospital as a precaution to be checked over.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police says officers are not searching for anyone else in relation to the incident.
