A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found in Burley Park, Leeds.

Polish national Waldek Mural, 57, was found dead in the park off Cardigan Lane just before 7am on Saturday, September 5.

He died from multiple injuries to his body.

Grzegorz Kowalczyk, 41, of Pavilion Mews, Headingley, made a first appearance at Leeds Magistrates Court on Saturday.

He spoke only to confirm his personal details and was remanded in custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday.

Two other men who were arrested have been released without charge.
