Man fined after hacking into ex-girlfriend’s Facebook account

A joiner who hacked into his ex-girlfriend’s Facebook account and posted abusive messages has been handed a £400 bill after pleading guilty in court.

Darren Stephenson, 35, of White Lee Road in Batley, also sent a number of abusive emails directly to Sharron Wilby, his former partner of nine years.

He pleaded guilty to harassment without violence at Batley and Dewsbury Magistrates Court and was ordered to pay a £300 fine, a £15 victim’s surcharge and court costs of £85.
