A MAN was dragged into a ginnel and punched before being robbed in broad daylight.
The man was walking along a street close to a park at the junction of Bradbury Street and Lee Road in Dewsbury when the attacker grabbed his arm and dragged him into a ginnel.
The attacker demanded money and a phone but was refused and punched the victim and dragged him to the ground.
The suspect took a small amount of money from the man’s pocket before the victim ran away over open fields.
He was chased for a short distance by the suspect, who is described as a white male, aged in his 30s, 5ft 9 in tall and of slim build.
He was wearing a white hoody with blue jeans.
Detective constable Andy Clayton, of Kirklees CID, said: “This attack happened in broad daylight and left the victim very shaken and distressed.
“We would like to hear from anyone who might be able to help with our enquiries.”
