Man arrested after reports a gun was fired in Leeds

A 19-year-old man has been arrested after reports that a gun was fired towards another man in north Leeds.

Police received reports of a gunshot in King Lane, Moortown, near to the junction with Queenshill Drive, on Sunday at around 5pm.

Officers attended the scene and traced the 17-year-old victim, before the suspect was arrested.

Two different parts of King Lane have been the subject of forensic examination today as enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Paul Hobson, of Leeds District CID, said: “We believe this was a targeted attack between parties that are known to each other and there is no threat to the wider community.

“We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist the investigation.”
