A lorry driver looked like he needed a crash course behind the wheel, after cops snapped his HGV overturned on a country lane.

The dozy driver was calling for more support when police arrived, tweeting a picture from the amusing scene criticising his parking skills. Police said the HGV driver was following his SatNav taking him down a secluded country lane near Methley, when the lorry got stuck and fell off the track.

West Yorkshire Police tweeted: “Oops, HGV driver got stuck on a single track road in Methley whilst following his SatNav!”, using the hashtag #youcantparkthere.

The picture was quickly retweeted by unsympathetic social media users.

Darren Ellis replied saying: “Whoops expensive recovery coming up”.

The story of Ashley Thomas, played by actor John Middleton, won a British Soap award.
