Wetherby services have been closed after a lorry caught fire earlier this morning.

It happened at around 6am on the access road leading to the service station from junction 46 of the A1 stretch of motorway.

Smoke could be seen billowing across the carriageway and it is expected that the services will be stay shut until around lunchtime.

The vehicle was carrying general supermarket supplies and the trailer was totally burnt out and the cause is not yet known.
