There are long delays on train services between Leeds and Manchester due to an emergency incident this evening (Tuesday).

Trans Pennine Express has announced that emergency services have been called to an incident between Stalybridge and Manchester Picadilly which is affecting all services running across the Pennines to and from Leeds.

British Transport Police has been contacted about the exact nature of the incident.

UPDATE: All lines reopened as of 6.50pm
