Limo tour leaves friends shaken and stirred

A group of madcap friends are set to tour James Bond film locations in Europe in an ex-funeral limousine.

The Kirkthorpe Cavemen will visit mountainous settings from GoldenEye and On Her Majesty’s Secret Service in a 1992 Vauxhall Carlton they bought for £400.

The Bond ‘banger’ will form part of a convoy of unlikely vehicles on the charity Fireball Rally next month.

Mikey Davany, Andy and Stevie Whiteley, of Kirkthorpe, Normanton’s Mark Ellis and Lancastrian Leon Bellamy will drive through eight counties in four days for The Dogs Trust and My Burns Club.

They have dubbed themselves the Kirkthorpe Cavemen and decided to take part after seeing an advert on Facebook. The September 17-20 rally will visit iconic destinations from the world of James Bond. It will venture through France, Switzerland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Austria and Belgium.
