Generous donors in Morley are helping to get pulses racing by paying for new defibrillators in the town centre.

Morley town centre now has two newly-installed defibrillators inside former phone boxes after a fundraising campaign.

The Morley Town Centre Management Board and former Mayor of Morley, Coun Simon Kimberley helped raise funds for the lifesaving devices.

Defibrillators are used to restart a person’s heart following a cardiac arrest.

In Morley the devices are now placed inside two former BT phone boxes.

Local estate agents Onwards and Upwards has sponsored the devices, which were fitted free of charge by Morley Town Council’s Andy Hutchison.

Coun Robert Finnigan said: “It has made excellent use of former phone boxes and will make Morley town centre safer.”
