Staff from a Leeds letting agency have raised £20,000 for charity by hiking 20 miles across the Lake District.

Employees from Linley and Simpson, which is marking its 20th anniversary this year, took on the gruelling challenge in aid of Martin House children’s hospice.

The walkers completed the energy-sapping challenge in just over 13 hours to raise the vital funds for the Wetherby-based charity.

Director Will Linley was one of those to brave the challenge. He said: “We’ve set ourselves some tough challenges before but this was far tougher than we had anticipated.

“Many even said they’d rather run a marathon than do it again, which gives you an idea of how physically testing it was for us.

“I’d like to praise my colleagues for rising to the challenge, and thank all who backed the cause with generous donations.”
