Zombies proved they have a heart by giving an animal charity a hand at their seventh annual film festival
Organised by genre buffs and Emmerdale stars Mark Charnock and Dominic Brunt, the 12-hour marathon included screenings of five feature films - but with time for a little sensible debate and discussion in between.
Dressing up wasn’t obligatory for the event hosted by The Cottage Road Cinema in Headingley, although many made the effort to come along in their zombie finery, complete with fake blood, ashen faces and the occasional missing limb.
A slightly macabre after-midnight party followed at the nearby New Inn.
Several hundred were expected to attend the festival with money raised going to the World Society For The Protection of Animals.
