PUPILS at Sherburn in Elmet’s Athelstan Community Primary School have been riding high ahead of the Bank Holiday weekend’s Tour de Yorkshire cycle race.

Staff from housebuilder Redrow Homes laid on a range of cycling-related activities – including a bike obstacle course and bike fix challenge – yesterday for key stage two children at the school.

Athelstan’s James Tucker thanked Redrow for its “generosity and enthusiasm”.
