Leeds woman seriously hurt in South Yorkshire road smash

A woman from Leeds was airlifted to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a road smash in South Yorkshire.

The 25-year-old was driving a Ford Fiesta car that was in collision with a Ford Ranger 4x4 on the A628 in Silkstone, near Barnsley, at about 5.10pm yesterday.

She was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital. The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 22-year-old man from Holmfirth, suffered minor injuries.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on the force’s 101 phone number, quoting incident number 775 of October 5.
