A woman in her late 20s was rescued by firefighters after her flat caught fire.

The incident happened at about 11pm yesterday at the third storey flat on Brudenell Road.

Fire crews from Leeds and Gipton attended.

A spokesman from Leeds said the woman was rescued from the flat and taken to paramedics suffering from smoke inhalation. He added the cause of the fire was under investigation. No-one else was involved.
