A woman has appeared in court accused of carrying away a child against her will.

Jade Mellars, 22, denied the alleged offence, which happened at 4.30pm in Leeds on Wednesday, March 29.

Leeds Magistrates Court heard today (March 31) that the incident happened when the two-year-old victim was walking to the supermarket with her 21-year-old mum, who was also pushing a pram.

Appearing in the dock wearing a light grey tracksuit top and bottoms and with dark, messy shoulder length hair, Mellars, of Leeds, cried throughout the short hearing.

She was denied bail and will appear at Leeds Crown Court on April 13.

Chloe Smith, of Scarborough, has spoken of her experience after a bomb was detonated at an Ariana Grande concert.
