A former Leeds church has been transformed into a Winter Wonderland for a production of a classic children’s story.
Festive fun is in full swing at Left Bank Leeds as a production of ‘The Narnia Experience’ is brought to life.
Hundreds of people from across the city have helped with the production, which runs until Sunday, December 8.
It’s just one way that families in Leeds are getting into the festive spirit and the YEP is also keen to hear how you’ll be celebrating this year.
As part of the performance at Left Bank Leeds on Cardigan Road, visitors are led in groups of 30 on a theatrical journey through the world of Narnia.
Lynsey Jones, project manager and co-director, said: “A year and a half ago putting on a massive promenade production of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in the amazing setting of Left Bank was but a glint in a few people’s eyes!
“It seemed too crazy for words, but there was never a moment when I didn’t think it should happen.
“Some of those who started the project were already involved with Left Bank – a wonderful church now set aside to explore art, community and spirituality.
“We are so excited to be bringing his vision to life for the people of Leeds.
“The land of Narnia is so well-loved and we have so many hundreds of people to thank who have gone above and beyond – over 300 have been involved from across the city.”
Lynsey added: “This production has pushed us all to our very limits, but like the followers of Aslan, we have prevailed and so we are proud to present The Narnia Experience in Leeds.”
The YEP wants to hear your unusual Christmas stories, whether you think you have the oldest bauble in Leeds or have any interesting traditions.
Schools, churches and choirs are encouraged to send in videos of carol singing and if you have a Christmas joke, send it our way. We’ll also have a Santa blog, gift guides, festive television listings and the latest festive fashion.
Get involved with the YEP this Christmas and send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org or tweet @Leedsnews using the hashtag #yepxmas.
