Four football fans are gearing up to pedal 250 miles from London to Paris in June in aid of a charity close to their hearts.

Mental health nurse Gary Duncanson, 35, and his partner Jenny Dorman, 28, from York, are proud parents to sons Lucas, three, and Billy, one, who were named after their dad’s Leeds United heroes Lucas Radebe and Billy Bremner.

Billy was diagnosed with a rare heart condition aged just two weeks in November 2014. He was given a 50/50 chance of survival and underwent pioneering surgery at Leeds Children’s Hospital based at Leeds General Infirmary.

Leeds United season ticket holder Gary and his three pals have pledged to pedal from Wembley Stadium to Paris’s Stade de France in aid of the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund. To donate visit www.justgiving.com/gary-duncanson
