Toddlers went hunting for bears and wild things as part of a Northern Ballet project to get more children involved in the arts.

The 31 children, from Castleton, Quarry Mount and Shepherd’s Lane children’s centres in Leeds, used multisensory play sessions, dance, music and storytelling to explore the tales Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak.

Northern Ballet, supported by Wade’s Charity, led the five-week project as part of its work with children’s centres in areas of deprivation. The scheme is also aimed at encouraging centre staff to offer more creative movement sessions.
