Amena Jefferies from Cross Gates will appear on I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse on Sunday on BBC Three.

The reality gameshow is set six months into a zombie outbreak and sees 10 survivors from across the UK head to an abandoned shopping mall that is overrun by zombies.

They have to work together to make their base safe and anyone still alive in seven days will be rescued by an army helicopter.

Leeds City College student Amena, 18, said: “I saw the show advertised and thought it looked like an amazing experience. It looked unreal.

“I didn’t think it would be as intense as it was!

“It felt like real life when we were there.

“When I started it I wanted to meet people I was able to click with and go through the experience with together.

“It was a once in a lifetime opportunity!”

She added: “I’m so excited for the show. Every time the advert comes on I tell everyone to be quiet while we watch it!”

Radio One DJ Greg James presents the show.

He said: “The best way to describe it is a cross between Big Brother, The Crystal Maze and Shaun of The Dead.

“Bits of it will make you laugh, bits will make you shout at the contestant’s stupidity and bits of it will make you genuinely terrified.”

Greg added: “I loved making it.”

Catch Amena on I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse at 10pm on Sunday, February 15, on BBC Three.
