A YOUNG woman whose dress helped save her life following a road smash has been reunited with the firefighters who came to her aid at the scene.

As previously reported by the YEP, 21-year-old Zoe Turner’s skin-tight red frock effectively acted as a corset and stopped her bones piercing her internal organs in the crash in Leeds on December 14.

The incident was attended by firefighters from Leeds and Gipton as well as the West Yorkshire brigade’s technical rescue unit from Cleckheaton.

Paying tribute to their work, Zoe, from Wakefield, said: “I know the story is about the dress but the dress is nothing compared to what they did. In reality it’s these guys that save lives. They really cared. They were very professional and I was really impressed.”
