Leeds road shut after two women hit

Police closed a major road out of Leeds after two women were struck by a car.

The pedestrians were hit by a red Nissan Micra vehicle travelling along Kirkstall Road at around 3.20pm yesterday. They were treated by paramedics at the scene for minor injuries.

Motorists were diverted through the Cardigan Fields entertainment complex to avoid the accident spot. The road was reopened shortly before 4pm.

The driver stopped at the scene and no-one was arrested.
