A Leeds road has been closed after a sewer collapsed.

Yorkshire Water contractors are at the scene working on a temporary repair to the road surface on Apperley Lane in Rawdon.

The road closed between the junction with Micklefield Lane and the JCT600 roundabout at New Road Side.

Leeds City Council chiefs have warned the road is likely to be closed until at least Wednesday.

Diversions are in place and the authority will keep local residents informed.
