Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a member of staff was assaulted at Leeds railway station.

British Transport Police said the incident happened near the ticket barriers just after 5pm on August 4.

PC Gregg Whittaker, who is leading the investigation, said: “The victim, a 31-year-old member of rail staff, was assisting passengers at the ticket barriers when a man came though the barriers and swore before pushing and barging him out of the way.

“We take a zero tolerance approach to any form of aggression or violence shown towards rail staff.

“The victim in this case was simply doing his job and shouldn’t have to be subjected to such behaviour.

“We would like to speak to the man pictured in connection with this incident, if you recognise him please contact us.”

Anyone with information should call BTP on 0800 4050 40, or text 61016, quoting reference PSUB/B6 of August 19 or contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
