Leeds pensioner seriously injured in crash

An 81-year-old woman suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in a collision with a van.

She was crossing Dominion Avenue, Chapel Allerton, when she collided with a white van reversing on the road, knocking her to the ground. 

The driver took the woman home, following the accident around 11.30am on Wednesday, but she was later taken to hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses.
