Leeds is the UK's best place to live for culture

The Times has named Leeds as the UK's best 'cultural' place to live.

The city came top of the list of 20 British hotspots known for their access to theatres, galleries, museums and the arts in the newspaper's annual Best Places to Live survey. The researchers cited Opera North, the Northern Ballet, West Yorkshire Playhouse, Henry Moore Institute and Yorkshire Sculpture Park as cultural highlights, while advising house-hunters to look to buy in Chapel Allerton, which has its own arts festival and where the average home now sells for £221,445.
