A team of friends are making the final preparations for an epic mission to deliver an ambulance to Mongolia.

Matthew Wild, his twin brother William, 24, and their friends Megan Hampton, 23, and Oliver Hayes, 23, - collectively known as One Steppe Beyond - are gearing up for the Mongolia Charity Rally; a 10,000 mile pan-continental road trip.

The pals, who met at Ilkley Grammar School, will travel through 17 countries, cross two seas and follow the footsteps of Marco Polo along Silk Road through Central Asia after setting off from Ilkley on July 8.

The team has now bought and prepared a 4x4 which they will drive and deliver to a hospital in Ulaanbaatar.

On arrival the vehicle will be given to the GoHelp charity which will make the necessary upgrades required to help it serve the local rural population as an ambulance.
