A FREE school which is set to move to a permanent home next year is staging a public exhibition of its plans this week.

The Khalsa Science Academy, in Leeds, opened in temporary facilities in Chapeltown in 2013 and had been due to move to a new site Alwoodley this year.

However the move has been put back to 2016.

The YEP revealed the school had written to parents saying the planned move to Alwoodley will take place in September 2016 - meaning the school will stay in its temporary base for the whole of the next academic year. Now the developers behind the school’s planned permanent home are displaying their proposals for the public to view at an exhibition in Alwoodley.

It takes place at the Alwoodley Community Centre from 3.30pm until 6pm on Thursday.

The display will include the latest drawings, which show details of the pedestrian and vehicle access arrangements, the construction process and overall timescales involved for the scheme.
