February has been epic for us at the arena. Valentine’s day itself was a long one for me as we were in early getting ready for the on-sale of Paul Weller which we also announced that week. Queues formed from 7am so we needed to get everyone sorted.

Then, it was all about preparing for the arrival of the the Kaisers and their legion of fans. Their support was also excellent with Public Service Broadcasting being particularly well received.

The Kaiser Chiefs have always been part of the DNA of the First Direct Arena with them playing during our opening season back in 2013, but their visit to us on Valentines day was something truly special. The band seemed so energised and the sold out First Direct arena crowd reacted accordingly.

Hit after hit after hit, the band raised the roof and for me personally, it’ll be one of our most memorable nights, a great audience and a great atmosphere. The audience was jam packed with Kaisers fans, including fan favourite, Chris Moyles.

The after party to celebrate the end of their highly successful tour went on into the small hours and I limped home as the first light was showing in the sky.
