A Yorkshire dog-lover has taken her pet to all the scenes shown in The Yorkshire Post’s 2016 calendar after being inspired by the region’s beautiful scenery.

Lisa Parker has made her own calendar after taking Revie, her 12-year-old Red Merle Border Collie, to the beauty spots around the region depicted by the YEP’s sister title.

As I already love the Yorkshire Dales I got the inspiration to visit the places featured in the calendar that I hadn’t visited and to take Revie.

The 44-year-old from Pudsey, an account manager with the YEP’s parent company Johnston Press, developed a small following after sharing the images with family and friends.

She said: “I got myself a copy of The Yorkshire Post 2016 Calendar in Dec 2015, and as I already love the Yorkshire Dales I got the inspiration to visit the places featured in the calendar that I hadn’t visited and to take Revie.

“This then gave me the idea to take a picture of him with the same backdrop as the Yorkshire Post calendar, and make my own calendar.

“I took each picture in the actual month it featured in. I began a Facebook album and shared each picture monthly, and got a small following.”

Each month of The Yorkshire Post Calendar includes a stunning photograph taken in one of Yorkshire’s most beautiful and well-loved locations, including Yockenthwaite, Hawnby Hill, Whitby and Hawes.

Describing her favourite parts of making the calendar, Miss Parker said: “I really loved Malham, I had never been and its not even that far away.

“Some of the walks were with a group of friends and their dogs and the York trip involved a train journey and many public houses.

“We had few incidents, barring cars stuck in snow and lost phone signal causing the group to become separated one time.”
